Angklung Goes to School (AGTS) has different type of workshops, which can be adjusted to each school needs.
Here are some example how it can be done at your school : - 10 - 30 minutes workshop Usually performed at the International Night - 30 - 60 minutes workshop Performed in class room, 15 - 100 students, grade 1 to 12. |
Angklung is a great instrument to introduce students to other culture. AGTS offers students an opportunity to be part of Indonesian culture. They will touch, hold and play the bamboo instrument. Students will follow the conductor's instruction, which is the universal music hand sign, known as the Curwen Method, and will learn to play this ancient traditional Indonesian instrument.
No musical background is required, and the Angklung is simply played by shaking it ! |
